Tea of the day Today, I’m drinking David’s Tea Super Ginger. It’s an herbal tea that contains ginger, pink peppercorns, and a bunch of other warm, spicy flavors. It was the first tea I tried from David’s, and I immediately fell in love with it!
Actual Knitting Content
I finished the first of my Vanilla Latte Socks by Virginia Rose-Jeanes. They’re knit out of Julianna’s Fibre Lucid Dreams Sock in the Raver colourway on size 2.5mm (US 1.5) needles. My goal for this week is to get to the end of the heel flap and turn on the 2nd sock.
I also finished the third striped section of my Color Affection shawl by Veera Välimäki. It’s knit out of Night Owl Fibers Basic Sock in the Rusty Hook, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Leather Boots colourways on size 4.5mm (US 7) needles. My goal for this week is to finish the solid stripe across the bottom of the shawl.
On Screen
I’ve been plugging right along watching Scrubs. I’m happy to report that the baby voice Zach Braff adopted for the entirety of season two has mostly gone away, but sadly, the baby voice Sarah Chalke adopted seems to be permanent. The episodes are really short, so I’m making quite a bit of headway, even though I had determined to watch less tv this week. I’m already half-way through season four.
Bookshelf
I picked The Pilot’s Wife (by Anne Shreve) back up, and I read about 80 pages the other night before falling asleep. I’ve been trying to go to bed earlier so I can read a bit, and not play quite so many games on my phone or computer. I’m trying to reduce overall screen time and give myself permission to do more of the things I really love doing. One of those things is reading.
Podcasting
There were a few exciting things going on in the world of podcasting this week! TrueCanuckGirl released three new videos on her Steeped in Books Booktube channel: a February used book haul, her March 2019 TBR list, and her Weekly Reading Vlog. The Knitting Expat put out something I was really excited about! An ASMR Spinning video!!! I love ASMR, so this was right up my alley, and I think she did a fantastic job 🙂
The Knit Girllls released episode 429, The CATT Lady Podcast released episode 93, and Must Love Yarnreleased a special episode about their Unwind Knit Retreat.
Night Owl Fibers also released a special tutorial video about weaving in your ends as you knit. Definitely worth a watch!
